SHRED SESSION: 20081025:
Had a pretty good session with Manna at my house today. He started quite on, and I ended the session quite on. We got a handful of more MOTWs, which I'm stoked about getting up here again. We also got a few runs each for a little slap-together vid, mayhaps. I may have to buy an external hard drive in the next few days to be able to make any more videos.

Anyway, some highlights:
-gyro diving mirage > pixie rev whirl [repeat]
-stepping rev whirl > rev whirlygig [repeat] (like, second try?)
-wetdream BSOS

Yeah... I guess that's basically it? I ended the session with a handful of pretty long runs. One was, like, 50-something, and the other 30-something, and both with quit low on bails. The 30-some may have been completely bail-free. I ended the session, after the 30-contact, thinking, "It would be neat to end on a big trick like alpine rev whirlygig in one try." So I tried and did it. Also, Manna's MOTW was fairy ducking butterfly swirl... Pretty freakin sick! A really fun time in all. (MOTW vids should be on the main page and the videos section in an hour's time.)

I had a really great day today. Lots of really comfortable bonding time with my besty, nice shred, good stuff on video. Also, I made an "impulse" buy of $120 of comics the same day I got my first paycheque. Haha. I made a $50 purchase the week before too. Some sick stuff I look forward to! Last week I got:
-"The Complete Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty", by Ashley Wood (been waiting 2 yeeaars! Incredible! (Though maybe a step down from the first complete collection?)
-"Tank Girl: The Gifting", by Ashley Wood (Super disappointing as with quite a few of his books, I'm discovering -- 90% of the book is drawn by his "assistant"... It looks like he MAYBE did screentones and colouring overtop himself, but... laaame. I've shelved it.)
-"Blade of the Immortal 19: Badger hole", by Hiroaki Samura

Stuff I'm stoked for aaaanny day!!:
-"World War Robot", by Ashley Wood
-"Sparrow: Kent Williams" (Mini Kent Williams artbook from Ashley Wood's "Sparrow" artbook series.
-"Mythology: DC Art of Alex Ross" (Alex Ross artbook)
-"Justice Volume 1", by Alex Ross (I haven't read this before. I looked it up beforehand and it looks like he only paints over another guy's pencils, but it really just looks like his other fully painted books. Should be sick. If so, the other 2 volumes will be ordered immediately!)
-"PulpHope" (Paul Pope artbook. Mike Faille kinda got me interested in Paul Pope. I didn't really like what I saw too much in Batman Year 100, but the previews of this artbook look RIGHT up my alley. Really... Becky Cloonan-esque.)
-"Rough Work" (Frank Frazetta artbook. THE fantasy painter. The master. Love his stuff. I'm a little worried it won't have much painting though, which is what I dig. I didn't see any other Frazetta artbooks on Amazon though...)
-"Gunsmith Cats Omnibus Volume 4", by Kenichi Sonoda

Also, Manna showed me this sick video of Chemical Brothers and K-OS, and I've had this song stuck in my head ever since. I am listening to it on repeat as I write this. You gotta check it. Sick video!

Comments:
I miss all the hackrifice blogs on modified. I have to remind myself to come here, which feels like a lot of effort, and I don't really understand the payoff. The only effect I've noticed is that modified is more boring, and I'm losing touch with you all.

Modified is kinda lame :/
I still kinda check it, but never really end up reading anything, 'cause nothing looks interesting.
