I've been playing semi-regularly lately, but with nothing of real notability. Today was different. Today felt good. I didn't feel rusty in my warm-up, I felt fresh, and energetic, and excited to play footbag. I'm not sure if it's a physical barrier that I've finally overcome after my most recent year-long injury, or if it's inspiration from a bit of fun I began to realize last session, or if it was the excitement of the continuation of my Fourkast video project -- the hiatus of which has lasted far too long -- and the insane Penske video goodness therein viewed (and resultant verbal outbursts of amazement!)

Anyhoo, I had fun, and I felt significantly less physically hindered. It was fun, and the extended 50% session length really proved that. I warmed up pretty fast (though was having trouble with flip osis all session, which was frustrating), and went straight into spinning and ducking tricks (legovers, mirages, and pickups) which I discovered randomly last session are fun to out of hit drifter.

-toe-set reverse whirling swirl > hand catch [repeat] (first time for the trick (my swirls REALLY suck))
I footed flip blurry rev whirling swirl a few times. It's that stupid flip swirl. I also footed pixie reverse whirling swirl both sides. I also footed spinning osis > pdx blender BSOS a few times.

I really focused on runs this session, and that actually came really naturally initially. I'm starting to get my energy back. I've been really lacking, and still am, but it's getting there. The slant in the driveway I've been playing on really screws with my spins sometimes (particularly noticeable in runs, where by the end of the run I'm at the end of the driveway.. hahaha.)

A highlight also, was a group of high school kids calling out, "Play some hacky sack!" as I was going back into the house at the end of the session (they must have remembered me from some day I was playing, since I was just gathering my stuff as they walked by). I kind of just looked back and smiled and went inside. As soon as I went inside I wished I'd showed them something, even though I was super tired. The one guy'd called, "Just show us a trick!" Next time I will if I've got the energy. I look forward to my next non-solo session... whenever that may be. I wanna bust. And I feel so little energy and motivation to on my own.
